Things that make you go hmmmmm....

Life cannot be classified in terms of a simple neurological ladder, with human beings at the top; it is more accurate to talk of different forms of intelligence, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. This point was well demonstrated in the minutes before last December's tsunami when tourists grabbed their digital cameras and ran after the ebbing surf, and all the 'dumb' animals made for the hills. - B R Myers (author, 1963 - )

well said, anonymi 1 through 4!!

ugh... you try to be deep and philosophical and you just get sp*mmed.

although I agree with the idea that it is accurate to talk of different forms of intelligence, each with its own strenghts,.. One must admit, it is that particular example which sets humans slightly apart from the rest of the animals, in that it can measure risks and take decisions that may harm/kill him, just for a certain reward/pleasure. There is certain incredible intelligence in taking risks. For example, it is very risky for humans to go to space, we overcame the risk and did it, know our species is able to study things in different environments, etc.

KILL those f'ing spammers. Too bad they weren't treated like this guy.

Jeff.. I don't know if I should take this comment down. I seem to have my sp#m signal on today. Unfortunately, they're like Hydras. You cut off one head and three grow back. D'ya think they give the death penalty for guys like that one?

Ed.. good point/s.
